Seattle-Vancouver-Victoria Cycling Tour

Seattle-Vancouver-Victoria Cycling Tour

Estimated Cost: $1,650 (Per Person Double Occupancy) plus Ferry Crossing Costs

COMPLETED

I am excited to present another BTCNJ adventure–cycling from Seattle to Vancouver to Victoria with rest days in Vancouver and Victoria! Washington and British Columbia have fabulous weather in the beginning of September–with little or no rain. Cycle through downtown Seattle and past the Space Needle, through Granville Island and Stanley Park in Vancouver, totem poles in Duncan, the Butchart Gardens in Victoria, and the Olympic Peninsula. In addition to the 450 miles of cycling, we’ll be on many ferries. There are 15 rooms reserved for up-to 30 of us – you will probably meet new and long-lasting BTCNJ friends. –Rich Brookler

Weather

The weather in early September is usually in the mid to upper 70s. There is always a possibility of rain – but relatively rare this time of the year!

Lodging & Meals

This is a point-to-point tour with 12 nights in hotels. Most hotels have breakfast included. Lunches are self-made using our sandwich station available during our daily happy hours. Happy hour beer, wine, and food are included. Dinners are on your own – we encourage everyone to go out in groups and leave no one behind. We will probably order in pizza & salads in Seattle on the last night.

Logistics

  • We will have a zoom meeting to review the tour sometime in June/July
  • The tour will start in Seattle on September 2nd at 5:00 PM at our first Happy Hour where we will review the next day’s riding.
  • We plan to have a van to transport our luggage and supplies – van driver needed!
  • We also plan to have a roving SAG accompanying our rides – SAG driver needed!

How to Sign Up for the Tour

  • We currently have 15 rooms reserved for 30 people.
  • 3 rooms (6 people) are currently allocated to help run the tour (tour leader, baggage transport, and SAG – and their roommates).
  • Signing up for the tour will be facilitated by an email to Rich Brookler ([email protected]) on or after Wednesday, January 18 at 9pm.
  • Emails before this date/time won’t be accepted.
  • The first 24 people to email will be accepted into the tour.
  • Once accepted into the tour, we will request a $800 deposit to be sent to Rich by February 1.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

  • Neither the tour leader nor the tour participants will be responsible for additional costs when a participant cancels.
  • The tour leader will do all that is possible to accommodate issues that come up – but there is no promise that all money can be returned.

COVID-19 Tour Policy

  • As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, so will our tour precautions.
  • Depending on the COVID-19 situation from where tour participants live, along with our destination, we might have some combination of:
    • Vaccination requirements – probably requiring all participants to be ‘Up to Date’ as per the CDC at that time.
    • Rapid antigen testing before and, possibly, during the tour.
  • Decisions will be made based on the current science and communicated with enough time for participants to ‘change their minds’ about participating.
