Custom-Built Spectrum Bicycle
Sold by Jason McGrath

The bike is a custom-built Spectrum by Tom Kellogg. I inherited this bike when I purchased a fully furnished home where this bike was in the shed.  It was built for an extremely tall rider.  I contacted Tom Kellogg to get the details on the bike, and I also tracked down the original owner (Rich Ehala - name is painted on the frame) to confirm the bike was not stolen.

According to Tom:

That frame was built for Rich in 1983.  The original paint job was a burgundy metallic but for some reason, we replaced both rear dropouts in July of '87 and repainted it in the two-tone yellow / red paint that you now have.  Rich's name was hand painted by a commercial artist that we used for many years and who died tragically a few years ago.  Rich was a VERY tall guy, about 6'6" and a truly wonderful person.  Except for the frame's size, there is nothing especially unusual about it in that it will still take standard components.  Specifications follow:
BB drop - 64mm
Seat Angle - 72.0 degrees
Seat tube Length (center to top of top tube) - 69.9cm
Top tube Length (center to center) - 55.9cm
Head Angle - 73.0 degrees
Fork Rake - 47mm
Chain Stay Length - 420mm
Tubeset: Columbus "SP" except for straight gauge seat tube
Fork Crown: Cinelli "MC"
Lugs and BB shell: Henry James investment cast.
Dropouts: Shimano "EF"
The bicycle is in decent condition but could use some TLC.  Everything works - I've put air in the tires, cleaned and greased the chain, and taken it for a ride around the neighborhood to shift through the gears.
